FAQ
Here are answers to some common questions about Still Waters OT and Coaching.
Occupational therapy helps neurodivergent individuals develop skills and strategies to participate fully in daily activities that matter to them. Support includes sensory regulation, executive functioning, social skills, and workplace accommodations. At Still Waters, I combine traditional OT approaches with my lived neurodivergent experience to create truly understanding, strengths-based support.
I support neurodivergent people from age 5 throughout the lifespan. Approach is adapted for each developmental stage: Children: focus on school participation and sensory needs. Teenagers: independence skills and self-advocacy. Adults: workplace strategies, daily living skills, life transitions. Each person's goals are unique to their situation and aspirations.
My approach is informed by both my years of NHS experience and my own neurodivergent journey. I understand the challenges from both a professional and personal perspective. I focus on helping people lean into their strengths, not just addressing deficits. I create a safe space where neurodivergent traits are understood and valued. Specialist support for sensory processing differences—unique to OT practice.
If you're struggling with daily activities, feeling overwhelmed by sensory experiences, having difficulty with organisation or time management, or finding it hard to participate in work, school, or social situations, OT support could be beneficial. I offer initial consultations to discuss your specific needs and explore whether my services would be a good fit.
